CANCELLED AGAIN!!!

Sorry for the late notice, but I think we need to cancel chess club yet again.  The weather outside really is frightful this time.  Last week was not as bad as expected, but the roads are already bad outside today.  I'm disappointed, but the battle over the boards will have to wait one more week.  Looking forward to seeing you all then!

Club Tonight - CANCELLED

It looks like the weather is supposed to get pretty bad tonight.  I think it is best that we go ahead and cancel the club meeting so that people don't have to be out on the roads more than necessary.  Sorry for the late notice!  I hope anyone who is planning to come gets this in time.

Club Tomorrow

So we had 4 members play in the Tarrasch Memorial this past weekend and overall fared pretty well.  In the U1600 section Mike finished second with a score of 2/3 and in the U1200 section Jason and Kelebrant both finished with a score of 2/3 and Al finished with a 1/3.  We also had several more people who have visited the club in the past playing in the top 2 sections.

Tomorrow I look forward to many casual games and ladder games and potentially analyzing some games from the tournament.  I hope to see you all there!

First Ladder Games

Well, our first ladder games took place this past week with Jason challenging Mike and failing, Al challenging Kelebrant and falling short, and finishing with our first ladder change when Al defeated Jason to start climbing the ladder.

I hope to see many more of these challenges in the near future.  If you wish to challenge someone to a ladder game make sure the two of you agree prior to starting the game.
